Welcome to Week 4
Teamwork certainly does make the dream work and if you were lucky enough to see our exceptional College production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, you would have seen that in action in so many ways. A Junior and senior production of this scale does not happen by accident, but with a dedicated team of students, staff and parents coming together showing courage, commitment, and a deep sense of compassion for others.
What was most magical about this production though was not just the excellence exhibited onstage, but the incredible sense of belonging that you felt when you entered a rehearsal room, or ventured backstage. The cast, crew and staff had formed a community with a shared sense of purpose and were indeed empowering each other to be the best version of themselves in ways that goes far beyond the singing, acting, and dancing. Through the dedication and commitment of the staff involved they created a warm environment where all participants felt safe and valued and that is even more powerful than the amazing performance. The staff, students and parents will go away from this experience not only with some incredible memories, as better performers but also as better individuals who have learnt a plethora of life skills that they can use and hopefully replicate in future life.
Being a member of the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang team provided the perfect conditions to live out the College Values. From deciding to try out, through to the final bow, it takes such courage to put themselves out there. The special bond that has been formed by all those involved with the show, creates something resembling a family. The kindness and the compassion that is felt through that time is never forgotten and I’m sure, many years from now, those involved will cherish the fond memories and dear friendships created.
As each student walks the Corpus Journey, from the sand pit to graduation they build many life capabilities, helping them prepare for a contemporary world. Each member of the Corpus community is exposed to so many opportunities, on a range of scales, allowing them to grow and flourish. This range of opportunities structured through our four pillars of: Catholic Identity and Mission, Community, Learning and Stewardship provide places where our College Values can be taught, modelled, learnt, tried and tested in a safe and caring environment.
The Corpus Christi calendar provides multiple places where students can live our College values and be Outstanding for Others. Last week was another perfect opportunity for members of our community attended Year 6 Camp and Year 10 Retreat.
Our Year 6 cohort and junior staff stayed at Forrest Edge Camp in Waroona. The student’s took part in multiple activities testing their teamwork, problem solving and courage. The group experienced wild weather conditions, but it was not enough to dampen the spirits of the Year 6 students, with muddy memories being created, new skills developed, and a great time had by all!
Our Year 10 students demonstrated compassion for those in our community by spending three days serving others. The focus of the Retreat was ‘Answering the Call’ and is based around a line from Matthew’s Gospel:
‘For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.’ The retreat asked the Year 10 students to look within at their own leadership before they are called to Serve others. Over the three days the students were involved in workshops to develop leadership, resilience and self-awareness, service activities with various community organisations around the local area and service activities around the College.
Wednesday night saw the 2024 launch of the Own Your Path expo for our Year 10 students and families. The Corpus gym was full of stalls, all representing different pathway opportunities for our students. Every Corpus Leaning Area went to great efforts displaying their subject’s offerings in Year 11 and 12, incredibly, over 60 subjects! Many universities, Tafes, and tertiary institutions were represented. Students were provided a one stop shop for planning their future pathways. So as this cohort courageously plans the next step in their high school career, we look forward to gently guiding and walking alongside them as they commit to success in their final years at the College.
Today we welcomed internationally acclaimed author, singer, and songwriter Fr Rob Galea to our College. Fr Rob met with our Year 11 students today, and tomorrow he will run sessions with our Year 12s before his live concert on Thursday evening. A reminder to families that this Friday is a student free day as college staff participate in a day of professional renewal with Fr Rob.
Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all Mothers, Grandmothers and Mother figures in our community a very Happy Mothers’ Day on Sunday. We look forward to hosting you for our Mothers’ Day breakfast at 7.30 to 8.15am this Thursday in the College Hall.

Welcome to Term 2!
Week 4 – Fr Rob Galea
During Week 4 we will have world famous priest, Fr Rob Galea, visiting the College. He and his band will spend most of Tuesday with our Year 11 students and Wednesday with our Year 12 Students. Fr Rob is an inspiring musician who uses his story and journey to faith to capture people’s hearts in minds! On Thursday evening there will be a charity concert with Fr Rob and his band with proceeds going to Caritas Australia and LifeLink WA.
Year 7 Quest Breakfast
Last week our Year 7 students reconnected with their Year 11 Quest Ministers and Year 12 Cadre Leaders for a follow-up session to the Quest Retreat held earlier in the year. Together with their parents, they started the day with a delightful breakfast before joining their Quest Groups to reflect on their experiences at 51ɬɬapp Senior School during Term 1.
In addition, Ministry Prefect Declan Kartadinata launched the Vinnies Winter Appeal, initiating our efforts to collect canned goods for donation. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this event!
Parish Mission – St Thomas More Parish
Saint Thomas More Parish will be hosting their Parish Mission from Wednesday 8 until Saturday 11 May.
Saint Pat’s Kitchen
We had an overwhelming number of students volunteer to cook for Saint Patrick’s Community Support Centre in Fremantle. From Week 3, each Thursday after school, students will cook a variety of meals that can be frozen and served to people who need it most. Registrations are open and we thank the generosity of our staff and students for giving up their time and resources in this way for what is such an amazing cause.

A review of the College’s Homework Club offerings was conducted in Term One of this year with the goal of maximising the time available for students to refine their study skills and approach to homework.
Following feedback from the student leadership team, we are pleased to announce that the new and invigorated A.S.P.I.R.E Club (formerly known as Homework Club) is ready to launch in Term 2. The acronym A.S.P.I.R.E stands for Academic Success, Progress, Innovation and Revision and captures the types of activities students can engage in to propel their academic growth.
A.S.P.I.R.E Club is open Monday to Friday before school from 7.30am and after school Monday to Thursday from 3.20pm to 4.30pm in the library. During these times, students can arrange to meet with teachers to seek further feedback, collaborate with their peers, complete homework, study for examinations or participate in revision workshops.
I look forward to seeing students across all year levels at A.S.P.I.R.E and there will be further notices about revision opportunities throughout the year.

College Uniform Update
The winter uniform is compulsory for all students in Term 2 and 3.
We're excited to announce that a new shipment of K-2 short-sleeve polos, SunSmart long-sleeve polos and College ties will arrive soon.
All items can be purchased via and in person at the Uniform Shop.
K-2 polos will be available from 3 May 2024
College ties will be available from 13 May 2024
Please note the Uniform Shop will be closed on the Pupil free day on Friday 10 May.
Enrolments Update
Year 7 2026 – Progressing Enrolment Applications has commenced!
We have some vital information for all new and existing families who are interested in a place for Year 7 in 2026, as follows:
Year 7 2026 - Enrolment Applications for Siblings of Current Corpus Students
Do you have a child who attends another Primary school in Year 5 in 2024?
Are you interested in a place for Year 7 in 2026 for your Year 5 child? And,
You have another child who is a current Corpus student?
If you have answered YES to all of the above questions, please lodge an enrolment application for your Year 5 child as soon as possible!
Siblings of current students are required to lodge their own enrolment application to be considered for a place at 51ɬɬapp.
For noting, current Corpus Year 5, 2024 students are not required to lodge enrolment applications for Year 7 in 2026.
Kindergarten 2027 – Apply now!
If you have a child born between 1 July 2022 – 30 June 2023, please apply now for 4 Year Old Kindergarten commencing in 2027.
While we will not be interviewing for this cohort until a few years’ time, places are limited and we encourage enrolment applications to be lodged in advance to avoid missing out on a place!

A Charity Concert with Father Rob Galea
51ɬɬapp is proud to present a FREE Charity Concert with Father Rob Galea.

Mother’s Day Breakfast
The College invites students and their Mothers, Grandmothers or a significant lady in their life to a Mother’s Day Breakfast on Thursday 9 May at 7.30am - 8.15am at the College Hall (adjacent to the Theatre).
Tea, coffee, juice and a continental breakfast will be served with an opportunity to grab a professional photo with your child as well as go in the draw to win prizes.
No registrations are necessary. We look forward to seeing you there!
Week 4 Update
Dear Junior School Families,
It's an eventful week here at 51ɬɬapp Junior School as we come together to celebrate Merici and Mackillop Week. This special occasion has brought a lot of excitement as we engage in a range of activities to honour the legacies of these remarkable individuals. From inspiring lessons to creative projects, our students have been actively involved in commemorating the values and achievements of Saint Angela Merici and Saint Mary MacKillop.
A heartfelt congratulations is in order for our Year 6 students who recently returned from their camp. Despite the challenges and adventures they faced, these resilient individuals showcased incredible courage and determination throughout the entire experience. We're immensely proud of their accomplishments and the positive attitudes they exhibited during their time away.
Looking ahead, we're eagerly anticipating our annual Mother's Day breakfast, scheduled for Thursday. This beloved tradition provides us with the perfect opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation for the remarkable mothers and mother figures in our lives. It promises to be a heartwarming celebration filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
In addition to our Mother's Day festivities, we're excited to participate in National Walk to School Day on Thursday. While the national event officially takes place on Friday, we encourage all students to join us in walking to school on Thursday as well. It's a wonderful opportunity to promote physical activity, sustainability, and community engagement.
As always, we extend our sincere thanks to our Junior School families for their ongoing support and participation in our school community events. Together, we continue to create memorable experiences and foster a sense of belonging that enriches the lives of our students.

Year 5 & 6 Cricket Team
On Tuesday the 26th of March the Corpus Christi Junior School participated in the CAPSS Cricket carnival. The teams consisted of a Students from Year 5 and 6. The Boys A and B and the Girls A division teams only saw one loss all day. The Girls B division team went through undefeated. Success across both divisions saw 51ɬɬapp take out the win for overall best school in both the Boys and the Girls categories. Congratulations to all students on their success.
Halle G
Congratulations to Halle who had the incredible opportunity to feature in a new RAC advertising campaign introducing the Electric Vehicle Roadside Assistance service to its members.
Halle's TV commercial, which aired on TV and various social media platforms, showcases her dedication and hard work. Her involvement went beyond enjoying ice cream; she endured early mornings for filming, even attending school afterward to share her excitement with friends.
Additionally, she participated in photo shoots in Yanchep and Fremantle, balancing her commitments with school events like the disco. Halle also recorded the voiceover for the commercial, working alongside industry professionals like director William Bleakly.

Lachlan and Aiden G
We're thrilled to share some exciting news about two of our outstanding students, Lachlan and Aiden G! Lachlan has been selected to represent Australia at the BMX World Championships in Rock Hill, USA. His hard work and dedication to training have paid off, earning him this prestigious opportunity.
Additionally, we're proud to announce that Aiden G has also made the team. Both boys are ecstatic to be part of the squad and compete at the highest level.
We'd also like to acknowledge Mitchell, who will be away during this time, supporting his brothers in the pit crew/cheer squad.
Congratulations to Lachlan, Aiden, and Mitchell on this incredible achievement! We wish them all the best as they represent Australia and showcase their talent at the BMX World Championships.

World's Greatest Shave - Team Corpus
Team Corpus, consisting of a number of Year 12 students and staff participated in this event on Monday. We would appreciate any donations via the QR code attached. Blood cancer is Australia's hidden cancer crisis. There are 140,000 families facing blood cancer right now. And it takes the lives of 16 Australians every day. These numbers are set to double by 2035. Unless we do something about it. That's why we've signed up for the World's Greatest Shave. We're raising funds for the Leukaemia Foundation to give Australians facing blood cancer life-changing practical and emotional support. And to fund critical research, bringing us closer to the day when zero lives are lost to blood cancer.

Learn to Swim at Corpus
51ɬɬapp offers a Learn to Swim Program onsite at the Jennifer Reilly Aquatic Centre. The aquatic centre features a covered and heated 25 metre, eight-lane indoor lap and water polo pool, a separate 12 metre learn-to-swim pool and terrace seating for 180 people.
Our Learn to Swim Program is facilitated by Speed With Style, a company who provide a unique approach to swim teaching called Individualised Custom Teaching, which was developed by Dr Nigel Williams in collaboration with head coach and Speed with Style Founder - John Williams.
The Learn to Swim program is available to both 51ɬɬapp students and those external to the College.
